About China Hall of Science and Technology

The China Hall of Science and Technology (CHST) is a four-star hotel conveniently located in downtown Beijing, on the northwest side of Muxidi Bridge along the West Extension of Chang'an Avenue. Accessible via Subway Lines 1, 9, and 16, it is 4 km from Tian'anmen Square, 36 km from Beijing Capital International Airport, 50 km from Beijing Daxing International Airport, just 2 km from Beijing West Railway Station, and 10 km from Beijing Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station. Flanked by Chang'an Avenue to the south and Yuyuantan Park to the north, it offers scenic views and a pleasant environment.

CHST is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. It offers 220 guest rooms, including business suites, single rooms, and standard rooms. Business District Information

Wangfujing Commercial Area

The Wangfujing Street stretches for about 1,600 meters from the East Extension of Chang'an Avenue in the south to the National Art Museum of China in the north. It is the most famous commercial street in Beijing. Wangfujing offers a dazzling array of products including daily necessities, hardware and electrical materials, garments, shoes and hats, jewelry, diamonds, gold and silver accessories. With a huge sales volume, it is known as a precious golden land that “earns a bucket of gold every day.” 

Distance to CHST: 6.7 km 

Transportation: Take Subway Line 1 and get off at Wangfujing Station (about 30 minutes)


Xidan Shopping Center

Xidan is a commercial-oriented block in Xicheng District, Beijing. It gets its name from the Xidan Archway, a well-known landmark in old Beijing. Centered at Xidan Intersection, numerous commercial facilities are distributed along Xidan Cultural Square and North Xidan Street. Xidan's commerce focuses on youthful and fashionable elements, attracting many local young people in Beijing for leisure and shopping, earning it the reputation of “a shopping paradise for young people.”

Chang’an Shopping Mall

Chang'an Shopping Mall, operated by Beijing Wangfujing Department Store Group, is located outside Fuxingmen on the West Extension of Chang'an Avenue. It is a comprehensive shopping mall, with a wide array of catering services.

Cultural Tourism

Yuyuantan Park

Yuyuantan Park is an AAAA scenic spot located in Haidian District. Its east gate is adjacent to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse; it extends west to West 3rd Ring Middle Road, facing the CCTV Tower across the road; its south gate is directly north of the China Millennium Monument, and it borders the Navy General Hospital to the north. Distance from East Gate to CHST: 780 meters (about 15 minutes by walk) [2.1]

Admission Fee: 2 yuan per person on ordinary days; 10 yuan per person during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Capital Museum

The Capital Museum, located at 16 Fuxingmen Outer Street, west of Baiyun Road on the West Extension of Chang'an Avenue, was originally housed at the Beijing Confucian Temple. It is a large provincial/municipal-level comprehensive museum serving such purpose as collection, exhibition, research, archaeology, public education and cultural exchange.

Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution

The Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution is located on the West Extension of Chang'an Avenue, west of Tian'anmen. Constructed in 1959, it is one of the Ten Great Buildings of the capital built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Approved by the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, it was officially named the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on March 12, 1959.

Tian'anmen & The Palace Museum

The Palace Museum in Beijing was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, formerly known as the Forbidden City. Located at the center of the Beijing Central Axis, it represents the essence of ancient Chinese imperial architecture. Centered on the Three Main Halls, it covers an area of 720,000 square meters with a floor area of about 150,000 square meters, housing more than 70 palaces and over 9,000 rooms. It is one of the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden architectural complexes in the world.

National Museum of China

The National Museum of China (NMC), located on the east side of Tian'anmen Square and south of the East Extension of Chang'an Avenue, stands opposite the Great Hall of the People from east to west. It is a comprehensive museum dedicated to both history and art, integrating such purposes as collection, exhibition, research, archaeology, public education and cultural exchange. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China.

National Centre for the Performing Arts

The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is situated on the west side of Tian'anmen Square in central Beijing. It is the supreme palace of national performing arts in China, the largest platform for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and an important base for China's cultural and creative industries. As one of the “Sixteen New Scenes of Beijing,” this landmark building features a uniquely shaped main structure, a crystal-clear lake, as well as large areas of greenery, trees and flowers surrounding it. It not only greatly improves the ecological environment of the surrounding area but also embodies the concept of harmonious coexistence and mutual complementarity among people, art and nature.

Route: Take Capital Airport Express (toward Downtown) to Dongzhimen Station, transfer to Subway Line 2 (Inner Loop) to Jianguomen Station, then transfer to Subway Line 1 (toward Gucheng) to Muxidi Station, and exit from Exit A1 (Northwest). 


Beijing Daxing International Airport

Distance: 53 km (about 1 hour)
