Yuyuantan Park is an AAAA scenic spot located in Haidian District. Its east gate is adjacent to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse; it extends west to West 3rd Ring Middle Road, facing the CCTV Tower across the road; its south gate is directly north of the China Millennium Monument, and it borders the Navy General Hospital to the north. The Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution is located on the West Extension of Chang'an Avenue, west of Tian'anmen. Constructed in 1959, it is one of the Ten Great Buildings of the capital built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Approved by the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, it was officially named the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on March 12, 1959.

The Palace Museum in Beijing was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, formerly known as the Forbidden City.
